Wombats Christmas Day 2009
Orri
Orri is our youngest wombat so he was small enough to sit IN the hat.

Orri is our youngest wombat so he was small enough to sit IN the hat.
Jacqui was not too concerned about wearing the hat, as
she had a tummy full of warm milk.
Jacqui came into care on the 8th June, 2009, she weighed 786 grams. Her mother had been hit by a car and the driver knew to stop and check that the wombat was dead and also if there was a baby and a pouch.
Jacqui showed the stubborn streak which will serve her well when she grows up as she resisted being taken out of her warm, safe environment
. At this stage of her life she had never left the pouch before.
She soon settled into the routine of 4 hourly feeds around the clock – those 2am feeds are a killer and rapidly grew.
By the 16.4.09 she weighed 1.175kg and wasn’t being fed overnight.

Three wombats down the burrow at our property.
These are three of our wombats.
